Garden Tourism Week 2012

Garden Tourism Week will be held from 18th to 24th March. It is a special week of garden related activities combined with enjoying the delights of the Sunshine Coast.

The activities are a special event in the celebration of the Buderim 150th Anniversary of foundation and also coincide with ‘The Year of Chinese Culture, in Australia’. Buderim Garden Club and Sunshine Coast Sister Cities Association are joint hosts.

Gardening is a strong cultural activity in China and in Australia, but historically expressed in very different ways in each country. Higher urban density, increasing population growth, and the need to save productive rural land, is changing the way we live in urban Australia. Chinese gardening has much to teach us in handling increased urban density.
