Noosa Jazz Festival 2011


The 2011 Noosa Jazz Festival will celebrate 19 years bringing the cream of Australian and international Jazz talent to the beautiful resort town of Noosa Heads, the event now recognized as one of Australia’s most enduring Jazz Festivals. Theme this year will be ‘Jazz Party’, with a bevy of Australia’s iconic musicians drawing together in a spontaneous combustion of traditional jazz within the Bicentennial Hall, followed by a stream of swing, modern, funk and blues bellowing along Hastings Street and in the Festival Village.

Festival welcome back Australian artists who are the ‘back bone’ of the Australian jazz scene, Bob Barnard, Allan Browne, Dan Barnett, Geoff Bull and George Golla, just to name a few. Intimacy will be focus for 2011 and recreating those smoky jazz room experiences in one of Australia’s most desirable beach locations.  


From humble beginnings of one restaurant, the festival today boasts over 90 performances in multiple venues along the infamous Hastings Street strip, a large purpose built jazz stage in Noosa Woods overlooking the beautiful Noosa River, Bicentennial Hall, which is the home of the Noosa Jazz Club and venues all the way to Noosaville come alive to the great sound of jazz music every year. 


All Noosa visitors and local residents are invited to attend the numerous open-air performances, historical jazz feature-shows and daily free gigs to experience the huge variety of jazz our musicians have to offer. So come down and enjoy some simply great jazz from 1st – 4th September 2011.
